Several MUST HAVE essentials for newborn care are suggested. Education about what to expect related to feeding (breast or bottle), diapering (circumcision care), and general newborn care will be discussed.
Childbirth education is offered in the comfort of your home. Education about pre-term labor as well as information about "Real" labor is discussed. A discussion about what to expect during labor and delivery as well as education about the process will be discussed. Options for labor pain management will be discussed. A birth plan will be created at the clients request. Education about what to expect related to immediate postpartum and newborn baby care following delivery will also be discussed. Any and all questions related to pregnancy, labor and delivery and newborn care are encouraged!
Although breastfeeding is nature's way of nourishing our babies, it certainly doesn't come easy for most. Being well educated and informed about what to expect related to breastfeeding a newborn can help set you and your baby (or babies!) up for a successful start to your breastfeeding journey. In some situations, whether parental choice or medical indications, there are other considerations for infant feeding that require supplementing with breastmilk or formula and bottle feeding formula. This consult is aimed at helping parents figure out the best plan for their unique situation. Information about techniques for supplementing is also covered. Support related to breast pump set up and supplies are also covered.

You deliver and then you are sent home with your newborn baby! It can be a very overwhelming time. Some babies are being supplemented and parents need a plan to help with this. Some babies are jaundice, and parents are worried about what this really means. A lot of times, techniques for soothing newborns is not covered prior to being discharge home from the hospital. With the consult, parents will be educated about and supported with newborn care, duration and frequency of feedings, soothing techniques, and helpful tips for establishing good sleeping habits. Information about criteria for calling your pediatrician and woman's care provider are also discussed. This consult will also help support mom by answering any questions she has related to the early postpartum days and breastfeeding if applicable.
Breastfeeding may have gone well in the hospital, but statistically, most breastfeeding moms have difficulties around 5-7 days after birth. This consult includes support for moms immediately postpartum who have questions or concerns related to initiating and maintaining breastfeeding or an established breastfeeding mom who needs further support. Parents that are bottle feeding or supplementing who need more clarity and education about their feeding plan will also find this consult informative and helpful.
You may desire continued support into infancy. Education about establishing a schedule, breast and/or bottle feeding (bottle feeding issues, weaning, returning to work after maternity leave), introducing solids, and healthy sleep habits will be discussed. A suggested routine/schedule will be created for each client based on their baby's age and the parents desires. Parents that feel stressed out, overwhelmed, or exhausted with no structure or good sleeping habits should consider this consult. You were meant to THRIVE not just survive.

Yes! You will! The newborn period can be very stressful, and parents are functioning on broken sleep. If your baby is having difficulty extending their nighttime sleep, you may find this consult helpful. This consult helps parents with transitioning their infant (or older child) to extend their nighttime sleep.
Other variables and factors such as sleep pressure, environmental factors, routines, and nutritional factors that may affect infants extending their nighttime sleep will also be discussed.
Infants aged 4 weeks through early childhood may benefit from this consult.
